A. Social networking has it's advantages by letting me keep in contact with the people in my life easier, and never lose contact like many people do after periods of time. Disadvantages of social networking is that you have no privacy. You have to be very careful on what you say to others or in general. You don't want anything that is intended to be private, being seen by everyone else which is something that social networking can cause.
B. The positive effects of social networking is the fact that not only can you keep in touch with friends and family, but you can also make new friends from all over the world. You can finally meet new people with the same likes and dislikes as you and still be in the comfort of your own home. Disadvantages is that it has also created a way of stalking someone, and disrupted peoples' privacy. People these days are getting too rapped up in other peoples' business. It is like making other peoples' lives are a necessity to make some peoples' lives continue.
C. Businesses are using social networking in multiple ways. One is as an advertising tool. Businesses are able to create a page to follow, thus making it easier for the businesses to publish upcoming events or soon to be releases or even to distribute coupons. This also helps the businesses by giving them an estimate number of customers or potential customers. This gives them the insight on what to do to better their business. Another way is by using it as a type of "recruiting" tool when checking out potential employees. A lot of businesses are going on to personal sites (facebook, twitter, etc.) to make judegements on potential employees and to find out what they are really like. To find out if they are worthy enough of being employed.
D. I see social networking evolving to a point in the next few years where there is no real human interaction except for online. Personally, I dont really like the thought of that.
The privacy statement was a great point! I don't think half the people using social media think before they post. Even marking a page private is no guarantee its not out there for all eyes to see and share as well.
